چکیده

a r t i c l e i n f o Natural gas is increasingly important as a fuel for electric power generation as well as other uses due to its environmental advantage over other fossil fuels. Using the World Gas Model, a large-scale energy equilibrium system based on a complementarity formulation, this paper analyzes possible future gas cartels and their effects on gas markets in a number of regions across the world. In addition, scenarios related to lower transport costs and decreased unconventional gas supply in the United States are considered.

Investigating Whether the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Can be Considered a Cartel: Application of Autoregressive Distributed Lag Bound Test and the Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test

The natural gas market is currently undergoing dramatic changes and is becoming globalized. One of the major developments in the global natural gas market in recent years is the establishment of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). Since the founding of this forum, there have been many speculations about whether GECF would become a cartel like OPEC. Cartels contributes to the coordination ...

Interim Global Oil and Gas Price Benchmarks and the Feasibility of a Party to Party Bargaining Model

This study further develops a party to party gas price bargaining model (expanded in a research paper by Okugu, 2002) by using proxies of prices of these replacement fuels in OPEC spot oil prices and Henry Hub (HH) spot gas prices. The study finds a significant relationship between the variables. When optimally lagged data are analysed in a vector autoregressive model, a significant longer-term...

Studying the Effect of Reformer Gas and Exhaust Gas Recirculation on Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Engine Operation

Combustion in homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine is controlled auto ignition of well-mixed fuel, air and residual gas. Since onset of HCCI combustion depends on the auto ignition of fuel/air mixture, there is no direct control on the start of combustion process. Therefore, HCCI combustion becomes unstable rather easily especially at lower and higher engine load. Charge strati...
